Q1 : What is plaque mounting?
Plaque mounting is a process where your artwork (poster, print, photo and so on) is laminated onto medium density fiberboard or MDF. The edges are then beveled and painted with a colour of your choice.

Q2 : Why should I choose plaque mounting over conventional picture framing?
Plaque mounting is a more affordable alternative to picture framing. Unlike picture framing, because there is no glass involved, it is safe for use in kids' and other high-activity areas. It also has an easy-to-clean surface.

Q3 : What kinds of items can I plaque mount?
Anything flat that is no more than 1/8 thick: Business documents, Awards & Certificates, Diplomas, Promotional & Advertising Materials, Point-of-Sale Displays, Prints & Photos, Movies & Sports Posters, Newspapers & Magazine Articles, Blueprints, Postcards, Children's Drawings, Wedding Invitations, Mission Statements, Charts, Jigsaw Puzzles, Newspaper Clippings, Sketches, Maps, Collages, Comics, Price Lists, Letters, Charts and Displays.

Q4 : What articles should not undergo the plaque mounting process?
If a print is a valuable or irreplaceable it should not be laminated or plaque mounted. For example, original artwork such as oil or watercolour paintings should not be plaque mounted.

Q5 : How much does plaque mounting cost?

Please note that if you have a digital artwork, the printing price will be added to the plaque mounting cost.

Q6 : What does MDF stand for?
MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard.

Q7 : What are other terms for plaque mounting?

Q9 : How many different plaque mounting styles do you offer?
We offer five styles: Standard/Flat, Float, Box/Flush, Matted, and Combo/Raised Mountings. Examples can be seen on our Plaque Mounting page.

Q10 : How long will it take for my prints to be plaque mounted?
